Kia released more photos of the new subcompact Stonic crossover from Korea on Thursday. The Stonic is a likely competitor for the Nissan Juke and Toyota’s quirky C-HR.
Photos of the Stonic come just a month after the brand’s more upscale cousin, Hyundai, revealed the Kona subcompact crossover.
Like the Kona, the Stonic will hit European markets later this year, and will likely debut in the U.S. at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December and go on sale shortly after.
The Stonic — named from a combination of the words “speedy” and “tonic,” according to Kia — has a wide front end and a variation of the brand’s distinctive Tiger Nose grille design.
There is speculation the Stonic could bear a plug-in electric powertrain, but Kia has not yet mentioned what will be under the hood.
